I had 2 sunburst platys, 2 otos, 2 mollies in my 10 gallon tank (which I am hoping to upgrade to a 36 gallon or better and get a couple more). Had my betta in a 3 gallon tank. My one sunburst, Sunrise was harassing my other platy, Dusk. It got so bad that Dusk refused to come out of hiding. Tried everything I could short of getting another platy. Flash did not like his tank. Heated. Nice little tank. But he did not like it. So, despite not having a job, I went out with the husband's okay and got a 5 gallon tank. Set it up. Bright colored rock (looks like fruity pebbles cereal). A pink, blue and green plastic plant and a black mug. Got it up to temp. Turned the filter on. Transferred Flash and Dusk into the tank. They are LOVING it. Swimming around. Dusk initially hid at first. Now, he's out swimming with Flash.

Here's the pic:

I think I might actually like this tank! I know Flash and Dusk do! Had to put a piece of paper at the end of the 10 gallon tank because Flash knew Charlie, my black molly, is in that tank and he wants to fight Charlie. He was looking at the other tank. So, a visual barrier had to be put in place. Once he realized he could not see Charlie, he settled down. Silly betta!

Anyways, when we were at the locally owned aquarium store, I found a 100 gallon, complete with stand for $775. If I had a job, I would have whipped out my credit cards so fast that heads would have spun! I cannot wait until I get a job! Oh! I wish I had a house too. A tank for every room! It would be so awesome to get some fresh water "sharks." I kind of like the striped peacock eel too! Ahhh....I kind of wish some days my dad would have never had fish tanks when I was a teen. The bug bit me too...and all it started with was a betta...speaking of which, I saw one that I would like. She was a light pink with some light purple in her tail. Oh so pretty...Once I get a job. Get another 5 gallon tank. Get one with that pattern...

Just happy I could actually convince my husband that this is a hobby for me and that I have spent way less on the fish than he has spent building his Aliens and Star Wars costumes. Plus, I think he is actually enjoying watching the fish. :good: Heck, he did not complain when I told him I was only going to spend $15 today and walked out $62 later....

But, anyways, I am happy with the 5 gallon tank. Once I get a bigger tank, Flash will have the tank to himself and 1 algae eater.

oh my good god, look at the state of that gravel, i think im gonna puke :D
