I picked up some frozen Brine Shrimp at the LFS the other day and my fish (Tetras and Corys) go absolutely nuts when feeding. I defrost in cup of tank water and turkey baste or dump when thawed.

How often can I give them this treat? Their usual staple is Omega Color flakes, Hikari Wafers and Bug Bites sinking pellets.

I used to give my fish dry food in the morning before heading out to work. Then dry, followed by frozen and live food in the evening when I had more time to spend with them. Basically dry food first and then 5 minutes later you can give them some frozen or live food as a supplement to the dry. They can have frozen and live foods every meal but give them variety.

My plan was to try Bloodworms but the LFS manager said that they are having supply chain issues with their frozen food and have been out stock for months, so I gave Brine Shrimp a try.

Brineshrimp is fine, so is daphnia, mysis shrimp, raw or cooked prawn. Use cooked prawn if you have shrimp in the tank so you don't introduce any diseases.

If you have any rose bushes on your property, you can collect aphids from them in spring and autumn and fish love them. You can freeze the aphids for later on. You can do the same with ants and ant eggs, but the ants bite so should be frozen before use.

If you want to grow worms, you can get cultures of micro, grindal and white worms for fish to eat.

My fish get frozen foods on every day I feed them, I'd argue brine shrimp was better than bloodworm anyway 👍🏻
