Very good mate. Full of all the vital info needed. Keep it up mate, this will come in handy! :good:

If you only you had done this before I bought my Mandy! Lol

Where did you get that!!! Lol. I missed that. Couldn't did profiles anywhere! Thanks dude. Can you tell me where tht is sourced?

It's in the species index, which used to belong at the top of the forum index, it got moved to near the middle for some reason so now no one can find it.

When I did the corals I copied and pasted links and then asked a Mod to pin them in our area - hadnt got round to the fish yet

Lewis, you seem to have time on your hands whilst on the train, maybe you would like to do them?

Seffie x

Seffie so nicely put!! You can say it! I'm a loser for marine! Love it, love reading about it, loving writing about it! Lol!!

Yeh my train journey at the moment for the next 4 weeks is 2hours each way :( so 4 hours each day! 5 days a week!! Makes me very bored so I amuse myself on here!!! :D

Well those fish pages are done, i'll have a look and see what they're like tomorrow but if they're done I'll sort out links and get them posted and pinned!! Leave it with me!!

I still can't see where this info is!! Am I blind!!

And by the way! All done on my phone!! Stupid I know but I've learnt to copy and paste before pressing the submit button!! Just encase!! :)

Had a chance to read the Dragonet sheet now Lewis, I like the way you have put it together :good: there are however a couple of inaccuracies:

PSYCHODELLIC MANDARIN
Synchoropus Splendidus

The Psychodellic Mandarin is one of the most popular marine fish on the market due to it's amazingly colourful markings and elegant technique of swimming. This specialist fish comes from the Indio-pacific Ocean and is classed as an animal for expert marine keepers due to it's dietary requirements.

Common names are Green Mandarin, Mandarin Goby, Mandarin Dragonet

Minimium tank size is 60Gallon This is incorrect - if dietary requirements are met, can live in a smaller tank. Either with a refugium or copepod culture. however with neither of these the tank should have a minium of well established live rock, approx 50K and without other fish that mainly eat pods

Temperament is peaceful and very non-confrontational however it will fight with other male's of the same species.

Eats copepods, it's diet is purely based on pods. Pods are small crustations that are basically marine bugs. They live within the Live Rock and are normally active at night. In order to maintain a mandarin you require an established tank of at least 10 months to ensure that the food source is stable and able to withstand a new preditor.
You can culture pods in order to feed your mandarin. This is a fairly common method in keeping a mandarin due to the difficulties in feeding habits.
Another way is by building a small pile of rocks, not accessible by any fish, and feeding the pile every week with a very small piece of prawn. This enabled the pods to have a constant feed and a safe breeding zone from preditation. Warning though, this will add to your bioload and could cause ammonia spikes

Temperature should be keep within normal range of about 73-80 degrees.

Reef Safe? Yes

Size for a fully grown mandarin is 4-5 inches

Hardiness? Very Hardy provided this fish is fed well. This fish must be bought in good health and should not be bought if too thin. I would like to see a caveat here - hardy is not the same as Easy to keep!

Type of species is goby Nope  Dragonet

Breeding is possible in a marine aquarium provided a male and female are present. However the fry produced are very small and feeding these fry is difficult. There are very few reports of success.

Never noticed the species index. It looks good however after flicking through it I think it needs updating with more species plus there's not many pics so you can see what your reading about.

Still. Its pretty good if your looking to add to your stock bur not sure what to go for bur once again this is where pics come in.

I noticed the 'goby' bit on lewiss post on the mandarin but I wasn't sure myself to be honest even though I had one.

Thanks Sef was bound to make a few!! Tar, will update shortly!!

I have one suggestion, instead of putting 'type of species', which could refer to anything within the taxonomy, why not specify one, family for example: which would be Callionymidae.
