It's winter and I can't come up with any other way to keep my betta fish warm in her bowl. I can't put the bowl by the furnace because we turn the heat off during the day. Can't put her under a light (and leave it on all day) because it's a fire hazard. Of course if it were my house I'd just do whatever but it's my parent's  . So someone suggested I put the bowl in my ten gallon heated tank but they didn't explain how.

How can I place the bowl in the tank and still allow oxyen to get in the bowl and not allow my betta to swim out.

Maybe just for the winter, put your betta in one of these nurseries. It hangs in the tank with the wal just over the water line and allows the fish in it to share the water with the bigger tank, but fish in the tank can't get into the nursery and vie versa.

Penn Plax Aquatic Nursery

or why not get a bigger tank for it rather than putting it in a bowl in a 10 gallon

Good to see another Michigander :shifty:

You can buy a small heater for very cheap, Walmart has small bowl heaters for $7
