Fish behaviour questions

[Fish beginner]

Hi

Fish are acting very strange, I have/did have potted plants in my tank until just recently the fish have started eating them. Is this normal behaviour?. Am I feeding them enough?. Strange question do fish sleep? - when I leave for work early hours of the morning fish are always on the bottom motionless

As far as I know this is normal.
How much do you feed them?

I think fish do sleep as mine are at the bottom of the tank motionless aswell.
It's just a bit hard to tell coz they dont have eye lids to shut!!

Feeding them flakes once a day.

you should feed them a more varied diet.Although alot of people think goldies just eat flakes they like alot of other things
try some daphnia,bloodworm,cucumber,peas,lettuce etc etc.They do like abit of variety to keep them healthy.Daphnia is great for digestive systems too so try and feed abit of that

i think fish do rest but i wouldnt say they slept.Its normal for them to sit on the bottomfor short periods of time
