Hi, I have done a search but can't find anything specific.
Immeditatly after lights out - my danios and guppies go to the top of the tank and swim just below the surface. Sometimes a few of the zebra danios stick their mouths to the surface.
I thought this was due to lack of oxygen so I have added more areation to the water. However a few of the fish still do this. To be clear, it isn't all the fish. Tonight for example the guppies are swimming around the middle, whilst 3 out of the 6 zebra danios keep swimming just under the surface.
They don't do this when the lights are on - only when they are off. I am not convinced that it is lack of oxygen otherwise surely this would effect all the fish? And also I have plenty of surface agitation going on.
Tank stats are:
Ni - 0.0
Am - 0.0
Na - 20
Ph - 7.4
Kh - 13
So - is this normal behaviour?
