Im sure you are all going to say I should have done a WC by now :p

BUT basically I have had my LR for something like 3 weeks in the tank. A week after I bought CUC (3hermits 3turbos) so it is now 2 weeks since the first bit of CUC.
I have the rest of my LR coming tomorrow, should I do a WC before I get the LR or wait a week after and do a WC before some new CUC or WC Sunday?
I didnt have a cycle before as it is from an established tank and transported in water, will be the same this time as well. So not expecting a cycle but will test water before more CUC.

Also what percentage WC should I be doing as Im not exactly stocked with fish yet and won't be until July!

haha i should have done one ages ago, tomorrow will be my first

Wee, as long as your stats are fine there is no need to do a water change :good: in our larger tanks we do less of them :p

Oh awesome! :D So if I see any rise in any of the stats thats when I change or should I still have a regular schedule? :) every week or 2 weeks etc?

To be honest, I no longer test unless I see a problem, but for you, I would test each week, just to get a feel of test results and how your tank looks :good:

I only do a water change every three months - you will probably be the same if you stock lightly. However there is a caveat here, all nanos, imo, should have a weekly water change of 20% to keep them healthy

Oh really! I didnt realise that you could go so long! The only thing with that is the depletion of the good stuff in the salt for the corals, would I need to start supplementing with stuff to combat it going so long? I know your doing the red sea programm so is that something I could look into in a few months time?

Wee, you wont have a problem as you dont have lots of corals taking stuff out of the water, i.e. calcium and mag.

However when you do have more corals you can test for those things and either dose or do a water change. Remember, the old salty saying: never add anything to the tank that you are not testing for :good:

I am really liking the redsea programme, but others have had success with vit c (Nemo) and vodka dosing (Jay) It will give you something to start reading up on in about six months :good:

I like the idea of the vodka dosing but I might run out pretty quickly

I was just worried I should have done a WC already so glad Im ok! Costs too much for water changes haha!

Would that be........one for Wee, one for the tank, one for Wee, one for tank, until you were flat on your back or the fish were banging into everything and giggling :fun: because that is sure as hell what it would be like here
