hey y'all

I'm 18 year old guy in ontario, canada currently in college. My room is kinda boring i want to something to liven it up, so i thought of getting a fish. when i was like a kid, my dad used to have goldifshs, than a frog like swimmer (dont know the name) and after that was 3 crayfishs. I dont have that much knowledge for fish, i guess most people arent, here are some things to meet expectation went buying a fish:

- 1-2 gallon tank
- low maintence
- inexpensive
- a fish that is not boring like a goldfish (no offend to goldfish owners)
- a fish who got different personality, not a "swimming around the tank" personality

thats is all i know for basic fish startup, if i'm missing anything else please ask

Hi Mulak,

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately the only thing you could keep in a tank so small would be a betta or an african dwarf frog. Have a look in the betta section and read up on all the pinned topics.

Hi :hi: to the wonderful world of fish and welcome to the forum. A fish that I would highley recommend for a 1 to 2 gallon tank is the male betta (siamese fighting fish) they come in a variety of colors red, blue, orange, pink, yellow all sorts of colors and tail types. Here is a link to some things you will need to know about bettas.

I hope you and your possible betta will have a fun time and good luck.

that was kinda weird cause i was thinking of betta myself! if i was picking a place to buy a betta, which place would be the best to buy from... there are petcerta, superpet, petsmart and big al's aquarium?

Big al's because from what I here they take real good care of their fish. But those other places take horrible care of their fish especially their bettas.
Did you get any useful info from the links I posted?

thats where my older brother and my dad used to buy from in the past... i guess their rep is still great

PJ pet store also nice I live in north york and the pj centre close to my home have all kind of fish for sell. And another good choice for ya is probably guppy they are very hardy fish. Back when I was young I have a 5g tank with 2 guppy and they quickly mutiply to like 10+ in a few weeks :).

If the bowl was larger i think it quite nice.

Sorry, at least you would have light to do your work, lol
