First spawn possibly this weekend

well i've been condtioning them for about 2 weeks now and i plan n moving them into my teng after i move my guppies into a diferent tank. i have bs eggs and a microworm culture i also have hikari firstbites just in case all else fails and there should be infusoria in both tanks. i will use this as my spawn log once things are up and running. few qestions: What can i use to put the female in? glass cup, but i have seen them jump out of them, some kind of plastic tub? i do not have a chimney vase and i do not plan on buying one. what vitamins can i add to the mw culture?

no what i would suggest is letting the male spawn in 2.5 or even 1 gallon and then removing the female into the 10 gal. with a comm tank. About 2 weeks or so after spawning u will have free swimming fry all over the tank so you will need to remove dad he has dont his part. Remove him to a 1 gal. or more (away from the fem.) or else he will start eating the fry ..... Good Luck ! (post pix after a while for your log)(bbl nest... spawning,fry, exct.)

thanx willy but i did a 2 minute test run in the 2.5 to se how they would act and he chasedher around and into the gravel so it may be a rough spawn. the test was closely monitured of course. i do not have a digi cam but i plan on borrowing one when the fry get to be 3 months.

o i also plan on trying ial in the spawn tank for both the parents and the fry thanx jac

how old are the fry again? i thought they were still pretty young..

anyways as for your spawn, you can add small animals viatminas to the mw if you really want to, but soemtimes it'll blow up your culture and make everything die, sometimes it'll just slow it down a bit adn sometiems nothing will hapepn

I ptu my female in a big clear container, it wasn't a cup, but it wans't a chimney vase eitehr. I did have one that jumped out but i've never had anything more than a few cuts on the fins in my spawn...nbodoy ever gets really rough.

ok well it looks like i might be getting some new blood for him anyway, the female is such a piggy i cant feed her without having her over eat shed be really stressed on top of being really fat i have to fast her again if thats what wuv said joker then i guess ill be waitng
