Ok just carried out first tests in Marine Tank.

Tank is a jewel 4ft set up with 2 bags of live sand 4kg of LR (more to come)
An external fluval 405 and 2 poer heads, and heater. Skimmer still to come.

Anyway thought id check how tank was doing and ge used to test kits!!

PH & No2 test both went very well! Both perfect results

...but had some problems with came to GH and KH tests

The GH test explains you put 5ml of water from tank in tube and add one drop of GH fluid and it will turn water pink which is did!! (so far so good) then the pack explains to carry on adding a drop until water turns blue....well 30  drops later and still pink!!? Whats up with that?? is it too early to check this??

KH - well this test was succesful result came out as 90mg - kit says reading should ideally be around 105 - 125mg so its a little low what should i do to increase??

thanks in asvance guys!! xx

You don't do gH tests on marine tanks. gH tests measure water 'hardness' or the mineral content of water. Sea water is almost 'all mineral', ie, calcium, magesium etc. You could drop all day and it would still be pink. Save it for your FW tank. BTW, I think you are setting up a tank without reading up on how to do it first. Start reading the FAQ's in the nano and marine sections. SH
