First Coral Query

Hey All

I put my first coral into the tank yesterday after having the tank running for six weeks.
After 24hrs i notice some brown threads on the coral??
What advice can you guys give me please??

It seems to be getting worse by the hour!!
Im hoping it will retract tonight and the threads will blow off of it?

by the threads do you mean all the lil nobbles sticking out of it?

Wow, dunno what that is, but the coral clearly does not like it... Try blowing it off or sucking it up with a turkey baster?

Hi guys, the threads i were referring too were the brown threads that were clinging between the nobbles(are these polyps or something like that)?

Its like a hair algae or something, i could better describe it as brown cobweb!!
My tank is only 6-7 weeks old so probably a maturation algae.

Thanks for the suggestion with the turkey baster that should do just the trick!!

hey i think if its al eatehr then its just shedding its skin, no biggie just increase flow
