Im just beggining so please help me out.

A general rule for your first tank , is 1inch of full grown fish per gallon....
that is not including the tails......

Also, You need to be very careful with the betta's... as they tend to get picked on by other fish because of their lovely fins.... or on the other hand, they tend to not like real flashy fish like fancy guppies and could attack them...

If I were you, I would start with a couple of something hardy like guppies, and go from there... but thats just me....

Be sure to read up on cycling your tank before you start adding any fish, its VERY helpful, and will save your first fish a lot of pain...

there is tons of info to be found here, browse around, soak up some info and good luck with your new tank!!! its soooooooo much fun :)

thanks for your help. I thimk im gonna start my tank with a few fancy tailed guppys then after a while but some more fish in.

I havnt got any fighting fish in my tank, but i hear you must never put 2 males in together, as they will kill eachother, also the males are the brightest in colour....

Other fish such as Chilids will also attack your fighter, so be careful !!

Good Luck...I have also just recently set my 1st tank up too, its been running for about 6 weeks now :D
