firemouths

i'm thinking of setting up a 55g tank with firemouths. what would be some suitable tankmates?

FM's are pretty docile and,IMO, are more tropical than cichlid in aggro.

They aren't suited to be with more aggro cichlids but they might bully community fish a bit at first.

I've kept FM's successfully with Tiger Barbs and redtail black sharks and rainbow sharks.


Per your other thread about the FM and con. It could work, but the con will limit what else you could put in there as far as community and the FM will limit anything too aggro, although FM's are good at bluffing, that might not work in all cases or for very long.
