my friends firemouth has lost a lot of colour. The red has faded and hees very dull and got like a black line is all.

how long has he had it ?

what did it look like before he brought it home ?


was it colorful when he first had it [ got it from wherever ] ?

what do you feed it ?

what kind of lighting ?

what does he live with if any[ what size tank ] ?

do you have cover [ shelter ] for it ?

do you have dark or light sustrate ?

what is you water like ? p.h. , hardness , temp ?

maybe he just needs to settle in .

there are many things that cause a fish to appear pale , or lack color . the more you tell us the more we may be able to help you out .
I once had a faulty heater that let small amounts of electricity trickle into my tank , my fish were bugged out over that .

he got food for him but he?she? doesnt seem to eat it. What would be a good tankmate for him/her as another cichlid? and also i think he is to young to get full colour
