Firemouth compatibility

I have the chance of getting (for free, from one of my neighours) a 28(UK) gallon (125 litres) tank and I was thinking about Firemouths.

Basically, how many could go in a tank this size, and what else could go with them

There's no guarantee I'll get this tank, so I thought I'd just ask you guys

thats around 30 us gallons? (double check im not sure) are they being kept with the fish in your signature? if the firemouths were your centerpiece fish then you could get a group of cool dithers. like all cichlids, they will become extremely territorial when breeding, but if you have 2 males they will probably constantly fight. its your choice ultimately
