yep the search bar is there, its just there is no google or yahoo option. not even a plug in. i've even downloaded the thing again and reinstalled it. but still no google or yahoo. it looks like the default engines are all missing, with no way to retreave them, except to do back one version.

goto Tools - Add-ons

Then search in the add-ons box and your find it.

Still if nothing uninstall and go again with a new download may just help.

almost. you install search engines through the "manage search engines" in the search bar not the tools options, suggested. but there still aint any google or yahoo listed there.

just re installed as you said, and all was back to normal. something to do with an add on i had installed on the last version!

well, imho, it not ready yet. true its fast, but it just isn't up to the job. add to that that the software agreement you tick when you install it, gives copyright, of all things posted on the net via Chrome, to google. it all adds up to a bad deal for the user!

now i am informed they have amended this, now, but how many people were conned into giving up, virtually, all their rights to work they do on the net? It's a cheap trick, one they nearly got away with, but proves the company cannot be trusted! as such, they are not a company to trust your browser information to.
