lately ive noticed my fire eel getting very aggresive towards my zig zag which is half his size :/ they have shared the tank for about a month with no problems.could he do him serious damage?i can seperate them if need be

what do you mean by zig-zag eel...

Is it a moray or a spiney eel? If it is a spiney then I have seen them get along fine with other types of eel, fire eels, tyre-track eels etc.

I've had my fire eel 3 years and the only fish he was aggressive to was a tyre track eel he'd been in same tank with for 12 months. One week he just pestered him and killed him. since thne no problem and he's been with a peacock eel for last 12 months as well.

the way he chased the tyre track was very vindictive chasing after his tail and biting

its mainly when the zig zag goes near his hiding place or when they are feeding.i dont want any casualties on my hands :/ i will seperate them if it gets any worse

The larger spiney eels such as fire and tyre track eels are territorially aggressive toward their own kind and similar looking fish so should be the only eel like fish in the tank unless it is exceptionally large. I would suggest removing the smaller eel before any permament damage can be done.
