Hi,
Finnigan is my resuce betta from wm with the missing top fin. His back one is also abit cut but not as much as the top.
Anyways he was fine before I left for work and now I get home and he is speckled with little white dots!
Hes looking at me like "mom, do something!"
He already had salt in his tank for fins... What else to add?
Thanks ;)

I also just did a 100% water change and added new salt. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks Sandig for that link :)
I still dont understand how he got ick though. I only got him last week and his water has been clean. The plant in his tank was washed before it went in his tank and the tank that it came out of was clean too...
Im confused.
I hope I can cure him

Sometimes it just pops out of nowhere. One of my girls had ONE spot on her today, so she's in quarantine.

Oh, so get the Jungle brand Ick tabs. They. Are. Fabulous. End of story. They work SO good. Definitely worth the purchase. I gave them to Bettabelieveit when his fish, Knuckles, randomly got it, and it was cleared up in TWO DAYS. I swear by it... That and up the temp in the tank if you can. And do some salt dips if you aren't too afraid (I use marine salt as I've said in several other posts).

He does not have a heater in his tank and I dont have access for one for him. I will look into getting the tabs.
Thanks ;)

If you can't get that, Maracide works very well for me. I've only used it twice on my fish but both times it cleared it up in a hurry. Just for your information, I am told that ich is in the water all the time, it just shows itself when a fish becomes ill, stressed or injured. The stress from being rehomed is enough in many cases to cause it. In other words, you didn't do anything wrong to cause it. It just happens. Hang in there. I'm sure he'll be fine.
