I recently lost my clownfish on the one day i was away, and recieved a nitrate spike in return.

Since then my tank has stabilised, but i have noticed the base of my finger leather is turning white and flakey, i also noticed today this seems to be slowly spreading upwards, is it time to cut off the coral at the base to attempt to save it or will this kill the coral? im at work at the mo and will try and get pics up later.

Thanks in advance

Andy
