ok so i know it must have lead to loads of clownfish being put in bowls and it's easy to get tired of people asking what can i keep a nemo and dory fish in but it's obviously spread some good messages too.

there's a lad down our road, must be about 6/7 who comes and talks to us when were sat outside (his mum's a chav slapper in his own words he hasn't got a daddy and he's clearly starved of attention poor lad) he came by last night with 2 of his friends asking to come in and have a look at our fish.

They immediately recognised which was the marine tank and which were tropical (ok so i know it's freshwater technically but for kids it's close enough), they were asking about powerheads and what they are for as they'd seen one in nemo's tank, and perhaps most surprisngly they recognised the hosting behaviour, one of our blennies hosts in a leather coral, they said it's his house just like nemo's dad lives in an anenome.

i was really surprised how observant they were and how they'd obviously picked up some stuff from the film.

dunno maybe it's just cos i'm not a parent but god those kids were cleverer than I expected at that age!

Indeed, my little sister also says things like that. It's better than adds for fish, their in a fairly large tank, filter, powerhead. not bad

Smart kids :). It always amazes me too how much they seem to retain.

what is worrying me though is Ian keeps saying what a good mum i'm gonna make, and the more time i spend around kids the broodier i get.................

we really really can't have kids yet, way to soon!!

By far and away the best contraceptive I have found.... is an Xbox 360.

It'll kill off any paternal instincts, romance and even conversation... but at least you'll have the remote control to yourself :sly:

do it! do it! do it!
haha sorry

I know im only 15 but my brothers kids all come into my room to see my fish and they look around at all the freshwater ones until they see my saltwater tank which they all love. They think my blackfin clown is nemo and my firefish is dory? (dont ask i dont know why) but its nice to explain the science bhind the tank even if they dont have a clue what im on about.

 another classic line from ak77 !!

i had to sell a few 360 games to venture into this marine  and cant afford live again yet, the price im paying for marine!

lol we don't even have time to watch tv at the moment, got about 5 pages on our sky+ that i havben't watched yet, so far behind!! do chance of time for an xbox, although Ian's parents have got a ps2 going spare so we're gonna have that off them, mostly cos it's free

When we have people with kids visit they're always fascinated with our fish tanks(which is good cos it keeps them entertained), the only down side is cleaning the greasy finger and nose prints off the glass when they go!!
Xbox 360....pah, PS2....noooo, Nintendo Wii is where its at kids ;)

we'd love a wii, but they're quite pricey, the ps2 is free and we're skint..... you do the maths! lol

Forget kids, I'd rather have a Wii than any of the other systems. So much fun :D. Alas, I now realize why most adults don't play videogames... No time :( If I'm not at work, the gym, working on my tank, doing boring chores, or at some social event it probably means its a holiday and I'm catching up on needed sleep

You've got a tank? You American are so gun-ho! Why can't you drive a car like everyone else? :p

Fun is the best word for describing the Wii it provides it by the 'shed full'. IMO in recent years games have become a bit too serious and lost that fun element (my Xbox spent most of its time dust gathering) where as the Wii has that same fun feeling as us oldies got from pac-man or space invaders back in the day!
