i just recently got my 1st betta ever so i'm no betta wiz at all altho i am in the process of researching "betta breeding" cos eventually i would like to try. i read thru the thread "breeding bettas" but there were no specifics on finding mates.
so my question is - are there any restrictions to finding a girl betta for my boy betta? like color-wise or size-wise or type-wise? does it matter? will the 2 bettas breed regardless?
Yes,the two will breed regardless, but what you mix is what you'll get. Therefor, it's good to be picky and to try your best to match fin types, color types etc. A sibling pair is the best bet.
thanks for advice rollntider! i am keeping that in mind. i would like to keep some bettas for myself but until i figure out what to do with the rest of the fry... i am on hold with the whole breeding idea i just want to make sure i know what i'm doing when the time comes.
