Well as for every fish keeper i have changed my mine about a million times. I am going to convert a 24x12x12 tank to saltwater. This works out at 12Uk gallons i think. FOWLR

I have
- tank
- heater
- pump (fluval 3 185 gallons per hour)
- Hood
- stand

Need
- marine light
- salt
- hydrometer
- marine test kits
- sand
- 5kg of LR

Feel free to comment, leave opinions, advice or add to my 'what i need' list.
Thank you
sean

Because its so small its going to be very lightly stocked so LR i thought would be fine. Maby a clown or gobie?

Should be fine. Just do me a favor and dont try treating tapwater. At the very least use distilled cause if you dont, you WILL have algae problems longterm. RO from a store is usually higher quality, but if you have to, you can use distilled

Here in England its much harder to get things than the US. We cant get any really good fish things. My LFS is about an hour away and its not that good. They dont sell water for the fish tanks. I can get distilled from my LFS (local food shop). Also My mum may buy me a 22 gallon cube type system that i have seen. Bigger is better right. I will update later.

what cube tank is that?

An RO Unit is a must as not only will you end up fighting a losing battle against algea you will also be subjecting your livestock to metal that are not cleaned from your tap water, which in small quantities will do no harm but over time the qty in the tank will increase (if you use Tapwater)

I think there is a sponser on here that sells RO Units

Tap water & bottled water are no good

Its not a cube its the aquaone 620 or someting like that. Its the closest thing i can find to a nano cube. Also i can use distilled water with kents salt.

not sure which part of london your in but if you look in practical fishkeeping magazine or the yellow pages sure you will find a fish shop nearby who do ro

as for the tank i'm running an aquaone 620t if i had my choice again i would have gone for the 24 gal nano cube, with the aqua one tank by the time you've bought all your bits n bobs to make it work you could have got a cube anyway if your mums got plenty of money tell her get you a red sea max for xmas
