my betta who i have had for 2 years and has never been sick has white stuff which looks like mold growing on his fins he only has one very little spot of it on his lower fin it is about the size of an O and it is fuzzy i am going to do a partial water change and replace with clean water from my pond which has already been cycled and is very good ph nitrites etc and is warm as it is summer here. i put aquarium salt in his aquarium. hes in a gallon top fin aquarium w/ plenty of airation.

Will he be allright???
Do fish recover from this????
Could this be old age or dirty water etc???

please help!!!!!!!!

it sounds more like fungas, which could lead to fin rot. Keeping his water extra clean sounds good, if you have any anitfungal medication on you that'll be good to put in too. Personally i've never had experience with that, but i'd keep his water clean, keep adding the salt, and yes if it is fungas most fish will recover from it if treated properly.
