fin rot!

hiya again.....sorry 4 so many posts ) my betta Sock has fin rot......it was hard to notice when he was lying on the ground but now that he's swimming it's pretty obvious what is the best cure 4 finrot? i heard melafix is good...i just want to go to the lfs with some advice incase the guys-who-know-very-little are working

Besides any medications you decide to add, maybe you could add a little salt to your water too. I'm a fan, it's done wonders for some of my fish. It's great for fungus-type things too, so hey why not give it a try. We gotta make Sock feel better!

Melafix isn't strong enough for fin-rot. You need to get something stronger in there quickly.

Apparently some people have had success with colloidal silver but I generally stick to the Interpet remedies for fungus and finrot.

Yes Melafix won't do much...go to your lfs and ask the attendant they should point out some nice fin rot medication. Follow my sig for more info on Fin Rot Good Luck hope he makes it
