:hyper: I have treated fin rot hundreds of times, as I own a large aquarium maint. company. This case has me stumped!

Three Fancy goldfish in a 90-gallon aquarium, no overfeeding, monthly water changes, removed carbon from Fluval and Magnum canisters for treatment. For almost a year now we have used various treatments including Kanacin, Flagyl (metronidazol), mela-fix, then believing parasites may be the culprit: used Flukes meds/potassium permanganate, treatments using non-cheelated copper at .15 ppm. All meds given as directed.

The fancy goldfish fins are rounded now, and still wasting away. I appreciate any input.
Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates .20

The symptoms you describe and the treatment are standard and classic. Obviously with running a commercial concern you know your stuff. I have consulted my resources and in a nutshell, if the rot has taken hold and has infected the fish itself and from your description it has. Then you can either try a salt bath (for your fish)or see your local vet for gentian violet(if you live in the U.K.) If neither of these two drastic treatment works then unfortunately, you will need to let nature take it's course.

when treating with a salt bath best to try keep the light levals down and treat in a seperate container. dragon is right in everything he said one other thing that occoured to me that if it is a major case you may want to take corrective surgery into consideration it is mentioned at the bottom of this page if ive got the address right.

8) Now i agree totally with dragonslair.
As gold fish are very good with osmoregulation you should try salt bath method.
If this isnt no good, then i feel nature will do it coarse
Good luck
