My betta has a hole in his back fin (I forgot the specific name for it). It's very small but should I do anything for it, like letting it heal naturally or using meds?

Add some salt and do a 100% water change.... Pin holes in the fins is a sign of fin rot, but if you are only seeing one small one you caught it pretty early which is good.... For that minor of a case salt and frequent water changes should be just fine... Just watch it and make sure it doesn't get any worse.

How much is "some"?

How big is the tank? I am not one to ever measure anything I put in. I always just eye my stuff..... I would say maybe a teaspoon or so.....

My tank is 2.5 gal. Thanks for the info. wish me luck

The box of aquarium salt I have recommends one rounded tablespoon for five gallons of water.
