o.k so i went and got my first betta in a long time and i got what i thought was a bog standard red vt from my local lfs. now the little guy has been in his tank for 3 days (2.5 gal hex ug filtered very gently) and his fins are growing at a phenominal rate and i'm now wondering if i have myself a ct, the little guy was in with silvertipped tetra!! in the shop and i couldn't see any signs of nipping (although i'm sure there must have been some bloody silver tips are a nightmare from previous experiance).

so after 3 days all fins are developing points any thoughts gang?

fins are at there largest at 8 months old so they will keep growing well till then and i have seen split tails recover in 3 days with clean water, good food and no water current
hmmm That a that cant be right My males fins kept growing his entire life I was beginning to wonder if they would get sooo long he wouldnt be able to swim.... He died at 3 years old and his fins were a good 4 inches long at the longest point. (He was also 6 inches long Betta Splenden not a giant Betta)

Your boys fins may never stop growing :D
