Ok so my 25 G tank is full with 2 gouramies, 1 snail, 2 angels and a pleco. My friend is trying to convince me that I can get more fish because I have an air stone, penguin filter and an undergravel filter and I'm just wondering if this does indeed increase the 1 inch of fish per gallon ratio? or is this just a fish myth?

At the end of the day you still have the same volume of water, so not really, fish still need swimming room. Extra filtration is good, especially where messy fish are concerned, and you could probably add a couple more fish, but personally, I prefer to be over filtered for the correct amount of fish.

Yep, agree with the above. Overfiltration just helps keep the fish healthier and in cleaner water, it doesn't make the tank bigger.

To be honest, I don't think you need all that filtration, it just adds more work for you. Just keep it simple.
