I have a ten gallon tank divided into two compartments for two of my babies. However, The filter that came with the tank moves the water WAY to much, and neither one of them like moving water at all. So, right now the tank is unfiltered, and I just do 50% water changes with a gravel vac every 1-2 weeks. However, I really want to get it filtered. Are there any filters out there that don't move the water very much?

Not sure how much of a help this post will be.. but.

I know walmart has some pretty cheap internal filters. I do not know the name of them, but I can't imagine they move very much water. I am setting up a couple 5 and 10 gallon myself and going tomorrow to check these out, I'll let you know how I make out.

Here's a link to a post that I put up when I built a trough out of plexiglass for my 10 gal female tank. It's works beautifuly. Another way I have seen on here is to take a 20 ounce soda bottle, cut the middle out of it and cut it along one side, then wrap that part around the output of the filter. Let me do some digging and see if I can find it. I think the Duetto 100 filter is good for 10 gallons. It's an adjustable flow submersible filter with seperate mechanical, biological, and chemical filtration. I use the Duetto 50's in my smaller tanks and they keep the water crystal clear. I don't remember who they are made by though. I'm at a friends house and the box is at my apartment. Betta mommas looks like a really good idea though.

Edited to add: Here's a thread on the 20 ounce soda bottle method.
