my filter is a fluval 4 in a 40 gallon 100cm long tank.
in the corner at which the filter outflow is directed there seems to be a swirling pattern happening. its about an inch in diameter and looks like a tornado under hte water.
has anyone else noticed this before? is it anything that could affect the fish (when i get some)

nothing serious its just the bubbles from the flow of the tank. some fish actually enjoy to swim through it

lower the filter in the tank and it'll stop.

Its the flow causing a small area of vacuum. looks like a whirlpool yeah?

yeah, it looks like a whirlpool, but i dont think moving it down will make much difference, it was lower before and it still happened

I got the fluval 3+ and it is very powerful i reduced the flow but i seem to have the whirlwind like yours. But the fluval 3+ has mad my sand look so so good, its given it the texture of sea with waves of sand.
