Filter

I just bought a new 10 gallon and it came with an overhead trickle filter, the ones with the pipe hanging down from the hood right the the bottom, its not very pretty. Is it worth keeping it or shall i take it out all together and buy a new one? (if so which?)

the one on my Gf`s tank works a treat so i`d keep it.
they do get a bit loud if to much water evaporates though

trickle filters are actually really good for small tanks, the filter bacteria need oxygen to live and it can really aid they're development to be in a wet/dry type system.
