I have an aqua one aquastart 320 for my betta and was wondering, could i put some filter wool down the outflow tube of my undergravel filters powerhead to slow the current?

if i can will something like this be ok? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sera-Fine-Filter-Woo...VQQcmdZViewItem

and will this have a good/bad/neutral effect on my filtration system?

It would work just fine, but you'd have to clean it regularly since it will build up with detritus quickly and make the pump slower and slower and slower. Also remember, when restricting pumps the pump gets a little hotter. Might be a great thing in the winter, but perhaps not so in the summer.

shouldnt clog up that much as its in the outlet.. when i asked Eheim about slowing the flow on my ecco, they said to close the outlet tap to reduce flow, so it sounds like this method is "ok"
