hi there,

i just bought a cheap filter from all pond solutions (as a second filter for my 80l...it also has a fluval U3) and it comes with a spray bar. i have never had a filter with a spray bar before and was wondering whether this should be completely submerged or nearer to the surface of the water??

thanks,

L

doesn't really matter - down to personal preference. It will still do the same job, just depends on what effect you want....waterfall or silent and invisible.

thats great...thanks. think i'll go for silent and invisible!!!

thanks everyone!! :thanks:

Bubble is quite right. You can take the spray bar off and have the water coming through just the one main (big) hole. That's how I used to have mine, and I used to put it half in and half out of the water so it would create a 'ripple' on the water surface :good:

All of my spray bars are positioned to create surface agitation, to provide oxygen....it saves me the hassle and expense of an air pump and the fish are all more comfortable because of it.
