Hi, I just set up my Eheim filter. The currents coming out of the holes of the spray bar are really strong and they are knocking my plants over. What can I do?

Can I remove the cap at the end of the spray bar (ie. not having water coming out of the holes of the spray bar and just have one stream of water coming out of the end of the spraybar)?

Please help.

Thanks

My normal approach is to get a second spray bar, take the cap off the first one, link the second one to the end of the first with a short length of tubing. I then angle the water down the glass so I don't get too much surface agitation. If there is still too much current, make a few more holes in the spray bar, easy to do, get a suitably sized nail, hold it, (in a pair of pliers!), over a flame and melt the holes. Larger holes will also slow the current down.

Thank you guys.

I end up putting the spray bar vertical. Any forseeable problem with this?

If it's working - fine. The only thing that struck me was that the current at all depths might waft food into the filter before the bottom feeders get to it, but without trying it, I couldn't really say.
