Hi :)

I have a five gallon eclipse bow front tank that I've had for a few years now. It currently holds a betta. I have 5 endler fry that got for free at Pet Supermarket that are in a 2 gallon tank. I want to switch them, but I am afriad the filter is too strong for the fry. Previous fish in that tank have gotten stuck in the pull and these little guys could just be sucked up. Is there anything I could put over it or something to make it a little weaker?

Thanks. :)

In my shrimp tank I have covered filter with a section of ladies tights held in place by a rubber band to stop baby shrimps being sucked in
or you could use a small sponge filter

If the flow is not bothering the betta, I assume a Betta splendens, it will not bother any endler that I have ever seen. I keep a Betta splendens in my endler tank and it is the betta that runs away from the filter, not the endler fry. The betta is not really one to hide from the flow, since he grew up in a place that had good flow, but the endlers in with him are completely fearless around the filter.

Are you sure? about 6 of my molly fry got sucked up... :(

I have no idea what to tell you because I just don't see fry get sucked up by reasonable sized filters on a tank. Some of the people who advocate 10x flow might well have a problem in their tanks but I would expect to find a betta laying on a side of the tank and unable to swim with a monster flow filter.
