Hi just a quick wondering, i have some old carbon and filter floss ment for a tropical tank, are these safe for my marine tank?

Carbon is a personal call. I don't use it. Most use it to clear medications out of your tank when treating for a medical condtion. I use floss in my nano tank but change it out weekly to avoid it becoming a nitrate trap.

I don't run carbon either - however if you are considering keeping soft corals with LPS then imo run carbon
