Does having a larger filter than is required for your tank enable you to stock more fish than would normally be recomended.

High filtration turnover is one of the factors that allows more experienced fishkeepers to keep higher stocking volumes, but there are other factors too such as quality of tank maint. and cleaning schedule, proper feeding, tank inhabitants, etc
