Can anyone recommend a filter for a 60x30x30 cm tank -- as I mentioned in another topic, just bought a set up at Aldi that came with a filter that is eating my fry. Just looking for something functional and strong enough for that size tank but maybe doesn't have such strong suction?
I've got a tetra tec hob filter in a smaller tank that's never sucked up fry but I think a tank this size may need something bigger?
any advice appreciated.

Get a filter sponge, they are cheap. Poke a hole in it & slide it over the intake. This diffuses the suction, keeping the fry from being sucked in, and adds to the bio filtration of your filter.

****Edit To Add****

I just realized this is a 15 US gallon tank, just run a sponge filter for the fry & you will have no worries at all.

thanks Tolak - when you say run a sponge filter do you mean one of the homemade ones?

One of the diy filters will be fine "5 minute sponge filter" in the diy section. Cant hurt to put a couple in - I love overfiltering btw

Home made or store bought. I make my own because I can do it cheaper & better.

thanks, all.

Am heading to Maidenhead Aquatics today anyway; if they don't have something suitable I'll just try to sort one out myself. Will be happy to get the sock out of my tank.
