Filter question

This is gonna highlight me as such a newbie but I am buying a fluval 304 external filter for my new 55g (uk) tank but I've never used an external filter before.

When I get it does it complete ready to use or do I have to buy a powerhead for it?

Nope completely ready to use, follow the instructions and you'll be fine, although if you have large rims on your aquarium things could get trickle!!

Power heads are what sit ontop of uplift tubes on under gravel filter sytems.
