When I just went to put the light on in my Juwel tank this morning I noticed that the thermometer is just reading 22C, it is normally 26C amd the water feels colder.

I don't know whether it is the heater that is the problem or if the juwel power head is not working as well as it should, it doesn't seem to be breaking the water surface as much.

I don't know whether I should try and turn up the heater though it is tricky to know how much, or whter to do something with the powerhead

Help pl :-( ease!

hi Lisa

it makes you wonder if the heater is even working. Try turning up the heater and see if the light comes on. If it does just gradually raise the temp of the tank over a period of a few hours.

You may need to keep an eye on the fish over the next few days to see if the cooler tank has worried them.

let us know how you get on

I've had a better look at the heater and the top half is cold and the bottom half is warm. The light is still on in the top half so I think it may be starting to die :(

It is only 5months old!

I will take it to the lfs tomorrow and hopefully get a replacement as it should still be under guarantee. Hope the fish are ok til then, they all seem ok at the moment.

Thanks

not sure what the time is there Lisa (I'm in NZ) but is it worth checking round the area to see if there are any lfs open on a Sunday?

I had one of the tanks w/out a heater for a day but it was during the warmer months so wasn't too serious.....I did put a big towel over the tank overnight though so there wasn't too much of a temp fluctuation

good luck and keep us posted
