Hi everyone,

I have had a fluval 2 filter in my new tank (probably about 2 months old) and i cleaned my tank yesterday. i cleaned inside the filter and inspected the workings inside. When i put it back in the water i turned the restrictor down to the minimum (coz i have a betta) and it makes a slight rattling noise, it still seems to work ok but it might annoy the fish. It doesnt make the noise when its on full flow though!

anyone had this problem and fixed it????

possibly the water pushing against the restrictor making it rattle? although i very much doubt it but try wedging something in it and turn it back on to see?

I have a fluval 3 and whenever it starts to get clogged (low water flow) i can hear the propeller (sp?) rattling ( i knwo its this since i took the filter part off) but otherwise i never hear it

Maybe a little fish got stuck in it?

Mine does the same thing, the only way around it is to turn the flow up.

Last time I did that the impellor was a bit loose. Maybe take it apart again, make sure everything's in properly and you get all the air out and then see. If it does only occur when it's turned down, you can always dampen the flow with a spraybar or similar.

its actually stopped doing it now. i think it was just after the filter was cleaned so maybe there was air in it or something. thanks for all your help everyone!
