I think I'm gonna have fry in a week or so, for the first time :)
but I only have a small 5g tank to put them in. I have no filter or airpump or anything like that for it. I only have a 125w heater, which probably is too big for a small tank like that, I don't want to fry the fry...
what is the best thing to do?
any help is greatly appreciated!

OMG a 125W for a 5gal. DO NOT DO IT, If you do you won't have fry for very long. If its a fry tank then filtration is fairly important if you want them to survive the dangerous early period of their life. I would not put any substrate in but would put in plastic plants (with lots of thin and soft branches for them to hide around in) and 20W heater. A filter is pretty essential unless you will daily massive water changes. On ebay you can buy these little plastic sponge filters for about £2.50 which run of an airstone. This would be a good idea as it will areate your tank and also provide usefull filtration. Why not use this tank as a permanant quarantine tank and splash out a bit and get a fluval 1 (Although this might be a bit too poweful)?
