I'm now coming to the end of my meds cycle for whitespot, so am going to need to be putting carbon in soon to remove the dregs of the chemicals.

I'm using a fluval 204 at the mo (which I reckon may be a litle underpowered for my tank - but the NH3/NO2 readings are perfect - so it must be ok...) but all three tubs for filter media contain the ceramic tubes. I've already (earlier today) emptied out one of the tubs, and transferred the media into the 2 higher tubs so that they are both now full, so that I could put filter wool into the bottom to try and remove some of the paricles I get from time to time in the water.

The big question is, if I want to put carbon in, I'm going to have to remove entirely one of the tubs of ceramic pots, to have space for the carbon - but - what effect will that have on the biological capability of my filter - I'm pretty much halving the bio media over night... that doesn't sound good to me... Any advice/words of re-assurance?

Cheers

Nick

Me to, i wouldnt do it personaly, i would use a slocking fillted with carbon and place it in the flow in your aquarium.
That way you can take it out with out messing around with your filter. :D

The Carbon is good to remove the medication's effect.

Since your Carbon is new. it should do the job.

I advise you to put it for one week, to ensure that is the medication effective was removed,

Then change 30~50% of water, and redose your usually chemical's..

Good Luck
