Filter Malfunction! [stop Working After Unplugging.]

I would pull out the impeller and make sure that area isn't plugged up and then reasemble. You will have to fill with water and then plug back in. Don T.

Make sure that the filter is full on water. Also make sure that the impeller is fully installed and pushed in.

Do you hear the impeller working?

Try giving the impeller a spin after you plug it in. A pen or other long narrow object work well for this. Sometimes the impeller stops in a position where the magnet of the motor can't get it started.

Ya my fluval does the same thing. I either plug it in, bang on it a few times to get it working, or plug it in and unplug it a few times till I hear the impeller start spinning.
