Hi

What type of filter would i use for a 2.6 gallon tank which has a betta male in it?
I have another coldwater tank that has a fluval one plus filter in it and a very strong stream of water jets out, obviously this is not acceptable for a bettas habitat. Can you get small filters that dont jet out a strong current?? I ask this because im thinking of getting some cories or maybe even an ADF for my betta but someone mentioned that cories dont do well in an unfiltered enviroment.

Thanx

My 2.5 gallon minibow came with a whisper filter that hangs inside the tank. I know some people don't like them, but it is quiet, and it has a switch on the back so you can adjust the flow. At low setting it doesn't bother my betta at all.
Or if you could fit one on, an mini azoo filter would work well.

hmm cant find these filters in UK, I phoned my LFS today to find out what filters they had and the guy suggested either an Algarde Biofoam or an Hagen Elite.... Could someone give me an opinion of these two different types of filration and which one would be best for my betta tank. I'm not really sure how an underground filter works could someone please explain the process to me...

Thanx

I have the 2.5 minibow...yes the whisper internal filter is nice...but its so annoying...it takes up half of the side of the tank...and the fish always hide behind it and u cant see them...i would get the red sea deco nano filter

Has anyone heard of a "Hagen Elite Stingray" filter? You can get small ones for small tanks. I wonder if its suitable for my betta by not aggitating the water to much and by being quiet. Otherwise the guys at the LFS have advised me to get an Algrade Biofoam with an Aerovoluton air pump...

Can you find a link to show a picture and its specifications? That way even if we havn't seen it, we might be able to tell you our opinion!
For instance I have discovered that the little azoo everyone loves in the states isn't readily available up here in Canada, but the red sea nano filter is. Although not exactly the same, they are very similar.

The Stingray filter is about the cutest thing I've ever seen. However I think it would be too strong. 100l/hr , 100l is 26 gallons, I think thats too strong and it looks like it would take up a lot of space.
THe foam filter looks like your best bet.

I just bought one, the Stingray 10, to run piggyback on my 29 gallon. Just added filtration, really...I have a HOB Ehiem 100 in there already. We'll see how well they work, got it on impulse on sale for 11.00
