Right here go's. :D

Im startinng a new tank (6" * 2" * 2" 150gal/675ltrs) for my discus, and i want to get every thing spot on no rushing lol

i'm going to get the tank made at my local dealer, then i'm going to design and make the fillter, plumbing, tank stand hood and lighting unit.

i'm planning on using a sump filter, with a overflow tower and polywool to prefilter.

can any one post some sites with some good info and pics please, as i'm worryed about the size of the over flow and return pump and getting the balance right. :dunno:

i understand that the sump has to be able to take the amount of water above the level of the over flow just in case the pump fails

any and all coments would be apreicated :D

Get the bloke building you tank to put in a weir.

you fill the tank up to the bottom of the weir holes then fill the sump right up turn the pump on and you will never overflow as all the water on the return to the sump is the same amount the pump is putting in to the tank

simple

if you dont know what a weir ask LFS and no doubt they will be able to show you they great little ideas they work a treat
