Ok,

So to start off my storey here it is....

About a month ago i got a uv sterilizer, a laguna one pretty good one. So i hooked it up for my fluval 304 Filter and everything was ok for about a day or so. The next morning i wake up and the water looks like crap. There are so many particles floating around (seems like the filters not filtering at all). It's still taking in water and pushing it out. So i clean the filter and put it back together and still no change. It seems like it's bypassing the media ands spitting right back into the water.

I get so frustrated i go out and buy a Rena xp2 Filter. I hook it up and boom back in business all nice and good for about 5 hours. Then i'm sitting there thinking ok now i gotta hook it up to my uv sterilizer. So i take everything apart and hook up the uv ster. Once it's all done i sit there thinking thank god that's over with. The Next morning i wake up and BOOM the water is crappy as hell again. I think to myself this cant be happening at all. I look at the filter and it seems to be working ok, it's taking in water and pushing it back out. The rena has a no bypasssystem so it cant possiably be doing the same thing as the rena... I get frustrated again go to work come home and immediately take everything apart.... I think to myself wtf is going on.. can it be the uv sterilizer that's doing this...... no that's impossiable.. it's just a tube water flows through. But i'm frustrated so i take it all apart and run the filter just by itself and boom the water begins to clear again. None the less i'm not happy with the rena so i'm going to be buying a EHEIM filter 2026 pro 2. But aside from that anyone know what my situation might be. Im at a loss for words and cant explain it at all.

If your thinking i might be using like 10 feet of tubing then nope,i'm using actually pretty minimal so flow distance is not an issue.

Hi ya, i now its not much help but i have the same probs!! i changed my internal juwel for an eheim 2236 but still floating particles!!
i have started using filter floss and am changing it every 3 days at the mo to see if that helps :/ i'll let you know if i find the magic touch.

hey man, no these werent just little particles, you know when you do a water change and add water back into the tank and all the setiment floats around really bad.. that's how it was.

u need a eheim filter , my uv is connected to that and never had any problems
