Filter Advice Please

I am getting a new 3 foot tank on the weekend.... now I will only have the tank and the stand so what filter/pump would you guys suggest I get?

I am thinking of buying one of ebay seems to be cheaper than the LFS.

Your advice would be much appreciated

Filtration is mostly dependent on the type & quantity of fish you plan on stocking, and the actual water capacity of the tank. If you plan on keeping live plants this will have some determination on the filtration you need as well.

the tank dimentions are 36 inches x 18 inches x 18 inches the fish I will be keeping will 6 Tiger Barbs to start off and yes I will have live plants
