Sorry, but in the age of digital cameras, I decided to remain a Purist, like Ansel Adams (jk), I just don't like digital. Anyway, I've shot weddings, gone around Europe on a photo tour, and I've participated in lots of pet phtography endeavors. However, I've never shot a fish tank. When I did try it seemed like I needed a higher speed film. The fish looked more like comets. I know the camera speed has to be lower because of the low lighting conditions. Has anyone had any success with film? What settings did you use and what speed film?

When I take photos of my tank I do the following:
All room lights off, curtains closed, no flash, only have tank lights on
Ideally you want a reasonably high shutter speed if you wish the fish to come out clearly, which therefore needs a large aperture and high ISO to pick up sufficient light.
If you decide you do need a flash, do not point directly at the glass, photograph from an angle otherwise you will end up photographing the flash reflection. Hope this helps, and I'm sure others who are better at photography than me will give further / better advice
