HEllo right 1st off im currently running a 500L 6foot tropical tank.... am wanting to run a marine tank not too big ov a tank tho questions..


whats the min size tank a marine can be?

how long can fiji live rock live outa water ?

how long have i got to have a tank setup for to put live rock in?

witch salt and how much do you use?

can i put live rock in some salty water to keep it alive?

basicly if im successfull with that smaller setup i will convert my big tank to marine! any links to help setup a marine tank will be greatfull

whats the min size tank a marine can be?
As small of a tank you can find. But as with any tank, the larger the tank the more forgiving of mistakes it will be. Since it is your first tank, I would go for a large of a tank you can get.

how long can fiji live rock live outa water ?
Quite a while. Not sure exactly how long though. Just spray it with salt water often and it will live just fine out of water. If you are asking if you have to rush home after buying it, the answer is you will be fine.

As soon as your tank is set up.

Marine salt, not aquarium salt or table salt.

Yes, as long as the water is kept circulating.

Thanks Ryan!! helps me alot with the rushing home thing its not that ill be rushing home just i mite not have a tank to put it in stright away tho i can get it cheap!!

do you have any good links to setting up a marine tank. like witch tells you how much salt to add ect ect

hi i mite be getting a Length = 36"x Width = 12"x Depth = 18" is this good started i only want a few fish not many at all!!

as for fowlr,reef im not sure im hopeing to get some live fiji rock what sort shud i be looking to get

online mate! trying get it cheap just tp try it out, then if i like it and goes well illl buy big amounts for my 6ft tank

If you want to keep it cheap, don't go for a full blown reef tank. Just stick to live rock and maybe a few softies later on.

Yeah im hopeing to stock up on the live rock and corals few plants and then just 2-6 fish depanding on things

You do realize that you are very limited when it comes to sw plants right? And to stay cheap I would recommend just live rock as you would be fine with a single strip light.
